Low Saponification PVOH LW Series
Low Saponification PVOH LW Series: Information
GOHSENX™ LW Series (aqueous solution type)
The product is an aqueous solution type PVOH with low saponification that has hydrophilic and alcoholphilic properties.
Low saponification PVOHs (35 to 60 mol% saponification) have been used in various applications including hot melt resins, dispersing auxiliaries for suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride, adhesives, coating agents, binders, and pressure sensitive adhesives. However, because the low saponification PVOHs above are usually water insoluble, handling of the resin and application development have been constrained. In contrast, GOHSENX™ LW can be handled in the form of an aqueous solution while maintaining the hydrophobicity characteristic of low saponification PVOHs.
Structural formula
Properties
・Can be handled in the form of an aqueous solution under high concentration conditions (precipitates in a low concentration aqueous solution)
・Maintains the lipophilicity (alcoholphilicity) of low saponification PVOH
